I just rewatched 1x09 - Bad Judgement

AND OMG WHO ARE THESE CUTE SNARKY PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE BOATLOADS OF ANGST PULLING THEM DOWN AND SEXY GRINS AND SO MUCH FUN AND JOKES AND MORE CUTE THINGS. I WANNA FIC THESE ADORABLE BASTARDS.

I seriously feel like I've missed something by only starting to watch White Collar from 3x12. Because Season 1 is just SO HAPPY OMG and now I want to write ALL THE POINTLESS FLUFF IN THE HISTORY OF EVER.

You must see the first seasons - it set the basis for Neal & Peter as deep, committed friends. Without that basis, I'm not sure I'd have continued watching.

Looking forward to the fluff :-)

Oh, I've seen the first few seasons. I'm just more used to Neal and Peter from S4 on than I am to these new people who are still getting to know each other. IT'S AMAZING.

it's very interesting to watch the evolution of their friendship and their feelings over the years. In the beginning it was a lot more casual. They expected to betray each other, so the betrayals and lack of trust didn't really hurt. But then, it become more serious. They *chose* each other, and thus, any subsequent betrayal hurt a lot more.

At the beginning it was light and fun. Part of their cat and mouse game. And gradually it became a lot more personal. It stopped being a game, because they wanted that weird thing they had.

It's actually a very beautiful thing to watch.

OMG, that's all so true. I think I started watching right before it became *really* personal for them, and so I've only ever seen them that way. I should rewatch S1 and 2 properly, I love this older dynamic of theirs.

I'm sure it is! :D
