Ooh! I really do love glimpses into Neal and Diana's friendship. And you hit it on the nail - she knows better than to get conned by him, but you just can't help liking him. He gets to you. Thankfully she does respect him or otherwise, they might not get along so well! Love the head slapping and Neal joking about it. So Neal. ;-)
