I was really hoping it'd be - this is the first time I've written sex and it hasn't been wink wink nudge nudge, I am so glad it wasn't just frippery.
I needed the hope, even I can't torture my poor baby for almost six thousand words and get out of it sane.
I don't think Neal could have been anything *but* numb. The alternate would have been to feel everything, and I don't think I could have dealt with that myself. I would have been shreds by the end of it.
