So, um, I failed at posting yesterday. But! I wrote about 2500 words that are a part of a longer story that will hopefully see the light of journal soon. So, forgiven?
Day 18 - A song that you wish you heard on the radio
There are boatloads of songs that I wish were played more on the radio, but I'll just stick to the two I'm switching between today.
one
New Day by Kate Havnevik. I like the intro well enough, but I only really fall in love with this song at about 1:44. It's lovely.
Beautiful day
Watching you as you awake
Morning stars in your eyes
Your hand in mine
The sky is lit up
Day will be richer than night
So don't think of yesterday
It's here and now
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
The beauty of you
Gives me my fortitude
Stronger than any dark cloud
Screaming out loud, hey, hey
The sky is lit up
Day will be richer than night
So don't think of yesterday
It's here and now
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
It's a, it's a, it's a...new day
two
Cello Song by The Books featuring Jose Gonzalez. I'd been hunting for this song two days ago and making no headway till I remembered that it had been in the background of The Blacklist. It's beautiful.
Strange face, with your eyes
So pale and sincere
Underneath, you know well
You have nothing to fear
For the dreams that came to you
When you were young
Told of a life where
Spring has sprung
You would seem so frail
In the cold of the night
When the armies of emotion
Go out to fight
But while the earth
Sinks to its grave
You sail to the sky
On the crest of a wave
So forget this cruel world
Where I belong
I'll just sit and wait
And sing my song
And if one day
You should see me in the crowd
Lend a hand and lift me
To your place into the cloud
Question - What do you think Neal's afraid of? This is for the story I referenced above - I want to scare the shit out of him, but he doesn't scare easy. Generally, specifically, whatever. Thanks in advance!
